Alberta Equestrian Federation is thrilled to continue our annual Gait to Success Dressage Clinic! This clinic provides an opportunity for Alberta dressage athletes to develop skills with a world-class equestrian at an affordable rate. It is our goal to help foster the growth of our grassroots athletes.
Gina Smith
Gina Smith began her equestrian career with the Saskatoon Pony Club in 1969 and achieved her “A” level in 1976. She pursued her dream of competing internationally in dressage, training in Vancouver and Germany. Gina was named to the Canadian Equestrian Team in 1984 and was a reserve rider for the 1984 Olympic Team. She continued to train in Germany and competed in the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, winning a team bronze medal. In 1996 she and Faust represented Canada at the '96 Atlanta Summer Olympics.
Gina returned to Ontario in 1990 and trained at Franklands Farm in Brockville. She won several awards, including the Saskatchewan Horse Federation President’s Award and was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame and won the Swarovski Canadian League World Cup Final at the Royal Horse Show in 1999. Gina is an EC NCCP Licensed Coach and a popular clinician with riders of all levels.
